DS, AN OFFICIAL PARTNER OF CHANTILLY ARTS & ÉLÉGANCE RICHARD MILLE

DS, AN OFFICIAL PARTNER OF CHANTILLY ARTS & ÉLÉGANCE RICHARD MILLE

DS will participate once again in the Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille, on Sunday, 6 September, this time as an official partner of this exceptional event highlighting Automobiles and Elegance and the Art of Living à la française in a “Sunday in the Countryside” atmosphere will be held on Sunday, 6 September.

HONOURING THE HERITAGE AND FUTURE OF DS

DS will take part in two of the day’s events:

– The Concours d’État ‘The Most Beautiful Cars in the World’ with an exclusive presentation of a classic DS and an SM with special bodywork. The official DS of President Charles de Gaulle and the DS Ronde de Chamonix will be vying for the prize in this category, which pays tribute to these two models and their owners, who have taken such devoted care of them. The DS and SM are two cars that left their mark on the automotive world during their era and helped make French know-how renowned the world over.

– The Concours d’Élégance presenting he concept car NUMÉRO 9 with a fashion model by its side wearing a dress by the French designer Eymeric François. Created in Paris, the birthplace of the Brand and the capital of fashion and refinement, NUMÉRO 9 revisits the shooting brake design, one of the most prestigious styles in automotive history. The DS touch is apparent in the floating roof, underlined by a chrome-finished signature on which the DS monogram discretely appears, and side windows that flow rearwards into the tailgate. Its body colour, a deep black with a hint of violet called Whisper, and the “California” chrome trim with its slightly warm tone, give NUMÉRO 9 a mysterious and sophisticated air. To reflect and enhance the stylishness of NUMÉRO 9 during the Concours d’Élégance, the Brand is teaming up with the French fashion designer Eymeric François. The top model walking alongside the Concept Car will be wearing a pencil dress trimmed with leather stripes ornaments, from his “Vampires Coutures” collection.

CELEBRATING THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DS AT CHANTILLY

This second edition of Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille also gives the DS brand an opportunity to continue the festivities in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the DS. On the grounds of the Domaine de Chantilly, not far from the Château, there will be an exhibition linking the story of this “grande dame” of French automotive history with the Brand today. It will contain rarely shown drawings and models from the Citroën Conservatory that will delight devotees of the DS. Visitor will be able to admire “l’Hippopotame”, very first model of the DS built in 1949, or the “Ovni” model introduced at the Grand Palais in 1955 during Paris Motor Show.

Thanks to the valuable support of the collectors and the club SM Club de France, over 20 classic DS models will also be on display alongside cars in the current DS range. In the spotlight will also be the ‘1955 Limited Edition’ versions of the DS 3, DS 4 and New DS 5.
